As others said, puppy proof the house, make sure there's no wires to chew on in the small area allowed. Make sure to remove anything you don't want the pup to chew on. Have lots of dog toys ready - a variety of types of toys.

They love stuffed animals - just make sure there are no sewn on parts, like eyes, that can be chewed off and swallowed.
A great rule of thumb....look at any given situation and ask your self...."can he get thru there? Can he drown in that? Can he choke on that? Can he chew that off the baseboard, the door, the wall, the carpet, the floor, the rug, the plant, the cabinet, etc, etc, etc....He CAN and he WILL!!! They are ten times as bad as a 3 year old toddler, when it comes to getting into anything/everything. Dont trust them to have an ounce of good judgement, because they are enfants, they are instigators, they live to get into stuff and explore! NEVER leave that pup unattended, alone, with full run of the house, you are asking for MAJOR problems and events! Dont wait to get that book....get that immediately.....you are going to need it!
