She was coughing and gagging. The cough syrup was a tiny drop as I am aware of the adverse affects it can cause. Actually, I went online and did a quick research on giving her the syrup. I would not make it a habit to do that but she was in distress and it didn't seem to be stopping. She doesn't do this often but if it does happen it usually starts with her barking and progressing to the honking.
