Great suggestions from Wylie's Mom. A big soft stuffed animal (careful to check for chewing though!) or maybe a soft tshirt that you or your wife have worn. My boys love my tees and sweatshirts for snuggling.
8 weeks is really young -- needs lots of potty breaks. I brought my puppy home at 13 weeks and he slept from about 11 - 12 pm to about 5 am on average.
