That is funny! Max (my older one) did not protect his food or water. Still doesn't. But, he guarded the piddle pads and beds from the new kid.

My boys are full brothers and very different too!
I wouldn't count on sharing of foods and treats. Edible items and toys are usually highest on the list for triggering fights for many dogs. Guarding of humans/attention round out the top three triggers. My boys would go to war over chews.
