I'l also a dog parent, except luckily the sleeping/waking thing. Uni loves to sleep in and doesn't bug me to wake up early. Toto wakes up early but just lays there quietly until I get up. As soon as I get up, he is up and eye's wide open and BING! ready to go. Uni usually gets up about half an hour after I do!
