Did the vet not ask for a urine sample? Re the heart murmur - is this the first time she noticed it? Many dogs have slight murmurs that are not of a huge concern. But annual physicals which presumably if you have owned the dog for 4yrs should include listening to the heart if this was done then I would ask what could occasion a murmur after 4 yrs of clear health exams?
