I think that vest might be a good idea! I have never had problems with adults and my Yorkie but children acting in appropriately for sure.

I have had many more problems with my big dogs. What idiot adult barges in to a person walking a 100+lb dog? This has happened a number of times. Then the hand goes up and over the head terrible positioning. I when meeting a person with a beautifull big dog stand back at least five feet and chat with the owner first. Then I ask if I can say hi to the dog. And if the dog does not come forward to me - I don't push it no matter what the owner says.

And then there are the *treats* I really abhor folks who feed my dog without asking permission to give a treat.

And there is the Big Hug. Do you all know what a guard and protect dog thinks about a perfect stranger hugging them??? Not too much. It is a move of dominance which is not easily accepted by the dog. And if my boy growls they act surprised! And believe it or not some folks go into kiss the dogs face! Magic at 10yrs old will only accept hugs from me - not hubby or my sister who he has known all his life.

So that is my rant lol. In closing an amusing story. We were training Magic might have been 4+ yrs old and for a reason I don't recall I hugged my trainer. Well Magic thought that was great fun and and went in and jumped up on my trainer!! Such surprise we both had. We spent the next bit of time training him not to do that. Of course he had been trained from a puppy not to jump up on folks but we never thought to train him not to do it when I hugged another person :-)
