! It always helps to let it out and this is a great place to do that, since we all get it.
It can be tough bc animals in general are just SO darn alluring and captivating that I think *some* people do just innocently forget their manners bc they just are drawn in to touch, pet, look, grab, feel. I'm the same way in terms of feelings - I literally want to just scoop every animal I see right into my arms and eat them up w/ love -- BUT -- I do control myself and remember my manners. And I ask before touching etctera...as well as I watch the owner's body language too, bc they may not be amenable to any interaction at all.
Just try to keep your cool and say stuff like "she's very wary of strangers and I don't want you to get bitten" or "she's a little under the weather right now, so...." or whatever, you'll think of the right things to say.
