Yup, I'm kinda the same way. I'll most definitely watch FTWD bc I'm interested, but I'm not riveted at this point. And I'm also bugged bc they got a few things wrong in the first episodes. I mean, the kid was going through HEROIN withdrawal for petes sake and barely suffered *at all*...I mean, hello..??!! Heroin w/drawal is absolutely brutal - and they could've and should've used that fact to add interest to his situation. There were times when he had no replacement drugs at all - and he was just 'ho hum' gettin' buy quite well -- that's not how it goes in real life, not at all. So that really annoyed me big time.

It also annoyed me and boggled my mind that in almost all the first episodes, no one was actually really talking to each other about what was really going on - it was so freakin' bizarre! Whereas if it was real life, you'd be talking about that and ONLY that, ya know???
YES and the way the step-father (what's his name? the one with the exwife and son Chris) when he went into the building where Nick had been when he first saw a walker eating someone. He went there to check it out and then brought Nick's mom (his wife? girlfriend? I don't even know...) and I just felt like their reactions fell flat. They hardly reacted. And there was blood *everywhere* like clearly something beyond human went on, or something, I don't know... I just think reactions are not played out well, maybe because we all already KNOW stuff about the "dead" as do the actors due to it being a prequel therefore they're not portraying things quite as well as they should if they were truly seeing these horrifying things for the first time. Thinking back to Rick in the pilot episode of TWD is a great example, I mean he was terrified.
