Have you tried medication for the dementia yet, bc that can work miracles...? The med that seems to work wonders is Anipryl.
As far as when is the right time....look at your baby kiddo and really look into your heart to assess the true quality of life...it will come to you. I know, it's SO very hard. I wish they'd live forever.
