I wish I were brave enough to risk harnessing Monty in front of me or even strapping him to my chest inside my jacket (that's my preference) but the fine is just too big. A friend of mine got pinched 2x harnessing his jack russell in front of him on his bike. Had ridden with him like that for a few years. Last year ... ding ding. I can't remember how much but it was a few hundred. Distracted driving fine.
