The best dog that owned me had kidney disease. I did not want to leave her at the vet so they loaded meds for me. This causes toxins in the kidneys and if not addressed overwhelms the liver which is a filter. How you can tell if the liver is working correctly, their eyes won't be yellow. At the time, our girl loved chicken jerky. I had no ideal that this was causing deaths all over the US. It was the jerky that caused the problem. I only mention this because if you are feeding jerky stop it. She was given large doses of batryil to help fight the poison that her kidneys were producing. On her last day, she wanted to go outside and lay in the grass. As sick as she was, she wobbled outside. She lay for hours letting the breeze blow in her face. My kids were due to come home to say goodbye. She did it her way and passed the day before they arrived.
