Congratulations on the new addition to your family.

How close are the other dogs getting to you? What kind of behavior does your girl display?

Is she guarding you from dogs you greet? Or does she react to dogs who are just passing at a little bit of a distance?

Desensitization through gradual proximity to other dogs is a good start. You can do that at a park or any place where dogs frequent, if you have one.

Training classes are another good place.

Basic training inside your home helps for training outdoors too. Commands like sit and "watch me." Then when you are outdoors and see an approaching dog, you would have her sit and watch you with her back to the passing dog.

Takes lots of practice and patience. I understand the challenge and frustration. Max reacts to other dogs on our walk. He gets really excited and it comes across as aggression, the barking and pulling.
