You really seem to be overwhelmed with all the facets and angles of getting just the right puppy....not an uncommon issue with people that are beginning their search for the perfect puppy.

As a breeder for many years, I will enlighten you to some important angles you need to consider, in an attempt to "corral" your many, many concerns and questions.

First of all, you must do responsible reading and research in reputable books and news letters, ....we have many, many people on YT that have a lot of experience with yorkies, but you have no idea who these people are....you may be getting information from people that while they are trying to guide and direct you thru this, they really have no expertise in all the qualities you should be looking for in your yorkie. Go to professionals and major reputable publications and news letters....

First, you need to select a breed that is appropriate for you and your lifestyle. If you have done this and you are completely comfortable with your selection of a yorkie as your pet, then you have done step 1.

Step 2.....I would strongly advise you to mqake yourself available at any/all dog shows you possibly can. Watch the yorkie classes....go behind the scenes (if allowed) and talk with yorkie breeders and show people. You must be clear in your mind exactly what are realistic expectations for what you will find in your yorkie. An example of what I am saying would be, you dont go to the local newspaper, grocery store ad board, or flea market, to find a reputable breeder/show dog/healthy puppies. Your chances of finding a well bred, healthy puppy, as well as a reputable breeder, out of a local Greensheet or neighborhood newsletter/newspaper, or on a piece of paper stuck up on the Ad Board in a grocery store, is not very likely. Hang out where show people hang out....ie dog shows. Learn from experts, what you need to be looking for in your dog.

Get names of reputable breeders, reputable show people, that breed and show yorkies....they KNOW what is right and what is wrong, faults, imperfections, and genetic issues that could be very costly for you further down the road. There are exceptions to every rule, but it is not likely you will find snippy, hateful, intolerant dogs in a show ring....these people breed their dogs and if the colors do not start developing like they should, that is a "reject" from the show ring, but it would make a wonderful, outstanding pet for someone wanting a quality, well bred, fabulous lines/pedigree yorkie for a pet. This way, you dont get stuck with questionable breeding, questionable personalities, questionable health history, questionable reputation of a breeder, etc....

You need to work with a reputable, responsible breeder. She will want the very best home for her puppies, that she can possibly find. YOU will be every bit as scrutinized by the breeder, as you are looking and approving the breeder and her puppies, if not more so. Once you have found a breeder that has thoroughly vetted YOU, then work with your breeder and trust her to help guide you with a selection of the perfect puppy. She wants to be absolutely certain that her baby is going to the very best home, with the very best new owner, she can possibly trust with her baby.

You need to let someone that is soooo much better equipped to judge a yorkie and what that particular puppy needs in a new owner to be the very best that baby can be. THAT is more important to the breeder than it is even to you. BUY your breeder first, and she will guide and direct you to the very best puppy you can possibly own.
