Yeah everyone that I know has been basically telling me that... Well everyone OUTSIDE my family that is. xD Thing is I wanted a puppy because long story short I cannot have children(well I -can- I just really dont want to) and would like a puppy that I could know from the early stages and basically treat it like my offspring. I know it sounds a little silly, ridiculous and probably selfish of me but... I guess it's the best alternative for me. Also, even if I did want to skip the puppy stage I can't seem to find any young adults(1 year old but not older than that).. and most of the adults keep getting a description of "Shy, and sweet" which kind of gives me a red flag that dog is aloof and will probably hide from me for a long time. ;(
That being said, I also found out a "young" one on petfinder, and when I actually read it... it was actually 9 years old and then I asked the rescue as to why they labeled it wrong.. they got really mad at me and said because nobody would adopt him.. I mean I know its sad but not everyone wants to start out with a way older dog... And I still feel honesty is the best policy?
I like the thought of rescuing but I don't like the thought of not having a 100% accuracy when it comes to age.
