Default Very big scare.

I'm new to this forum, and you guys have been welcoming. Last night, after the cheese incident was probably the top 4 worst nights of my life, and that's saying something. I don't want to make that too long.

Chewie is a TOUGH chewer. I have looked for other puppies on this forum who does what she does; she grinds down SO hard when she chews you can hear it from the other side of the room. I had one post I found, but it wasn't like this.

She was chewing off the stuftie we call Lamb Chop's tongue. I did the responsible thing and was fast about it. Took it, threw it out, and while doing that, I gave her a nylabone. Nubbied one, since she's very obviously teething.

I heard a loud CRACK. Dan said it's probably her grinding and I disagreed. I ran to her, and the piece was RIGHT there, and I could NOT fish it out. she was startled and she swallowed it. I'm STILL crying writing this.

I took her to the ER vet, my husband was Upset for her, upset about what it could cost, just the whole gauntlet I went through. Chewie was fine, until I was so upset. We took that damn bone. Sorry for my french. The vet told us it was small enough to pass. He said we could get her looked at, but it wasn't something he'd say was a necessity. We called my vet this morning and will follow up when he's back tomorrow. I told my husband I really think we should get an ultrasound just to be on the safe side. Yes, I've read up on the symptoms, and I'm still not going to feel settled until it's looked at.

She is eating. She is peeing, she is pooping. She is currently angry that we took any toys away she could remotely chew through, and was given a kong treat toy in the meantime, until we get the bully sticks. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to put it in, I know I'm still highly upset and very disappointed in myself. She looks to ME to take care of her, and I failed her last night. Pet insurance is being looked into, and hopefully we find the right one, I know every person has their own standards looking into this.

I just wrote on here to vent. Needed to just get my thoughts out.
