I absolutely agree. I took in an older toy poodle rescue that had horrible teeth. I don't think he'd ever seen a toothbrush. All of his teeth were infected and the smell was terrible. He had two dental surgeries within several months after we rescued him, and lost all but three of his teeth. I think he was 9 or 10 when he had the second surgery. But he is like a different dog now he isn't in pain. He's gained some weight and is a much happier little guy.
