You can cut them to correct length yourself using a bolt cutter, or, Home Depot can cut them for you. You can spray paint them any color to blend in w/ decor.

Love this idea! I can think of several ways to modify it to make it expandable, adjustable, etc. I've been wanting to replace the gate from my first link so I think I might give this a try myself!
