Harley is a cutie. How old is he?

When Max was a pup, he liked to bite my toes in the morning. When he would do this, I would say "no bite" and put him back in his xpen while I brushed my teeth. He learned that if he wanted his freedom, he couldn't nibble my toes.

When we played on the floor, if he bit, I would say no bite and take my hands away. If he continued to bite, I would get up and walk away.

You can also yelp like a puppy when he bites or say ouch!

Max was teething up to 6 months when he was neutered and had the remainder of his puppy teeth removed. He learned bite inhibition long before that. My dad used to let him gently chew on his fingers to alleviate the teething pain. I think there is a difference between the desire to chew and to bite.

Hang in there and keep working on it!
