Forgot to add that my little gal does this, too. Biting. She bit too hard a few times but has since resorted to gentle sucking on my two fingers and nibbling on my nails. She'll also do this with her own paws. I don't know enough about dog behavior when separated too young, but I know my cat I rescued from a shelter at 4 months did this on my shirt constantly, and she was taken from her mother too young. I don't know if it's the same with puppies (nursing) I just know my little gal does this when she's being a huge love.
