Piper barks whenever my neighbors and I meet over fence. If she doesn't quiet down when I say 'no bark' I make her go inside and after 1/2 minute or so, I'll invite her back outside. If she's quiet, I praise her every few minutes. If, however, she begins barking, it's back inside. Now, mind you, this is a work-in-progress, foe sure, but since Piper really hates being ignored and/or left out, being removed from activities seem to make her think and she is improving. Perhaps removing your vocal little boy (for short periods of time) when you have guest will help him to understand he must behave in order to hang out...? Good luck to both of us with these determined little ones! |
