Oh perfect! I got my baby a large too! That way he has room to lay down the latch on the top is to take the buckle and put it back so the top is open. It took me a while to figure that out too. here is a sample picture. Except here I think I was still trying to figure it out and put it in wrong Lol you want to put it so that you're able to push the button and slide it back out. If that makes sense lol hope this helps.
