Oh I had a maltese for 17 years, she was the same way. My girls would rather lay in their beds in the morning lol! I don't think its a problem, my vet said its more about what their total intake is per day and as long as that is ok, she told me not to be concerned. Of course you can check in with your vet too, but sounds totally normal
