Thanks for the clarification. I did notice some leaking and had a roof guy come take a look several years back (less then 10 years ago). He said rest of the roof look fine and just replaced some plastic ring thing.

In that case get a copy of the report from the loss adjustor and the roof inspector and compare notes. There are ways to argue the decision but it depends on how much evidence time and effort you have
