Speaking of which, I always get asked by strangers on the street who don't know Yorkies, if Scottie is a Silky Terrier; I think because they see he has silky hair? So you're not the only one who interacts with people who only know the Yorkie as the 'teddy bear Yorkies'.
And then these strangers ask me if he's a teacup...and I'm thinking, don't get me started  | There are so many Yorkie experts out there, yes?!!! But every time someone tells me that Piper is not a Yorkie because she's too big (9 lbs), someone else asks "Is that a little Yorkie? Here look at mine!" and show me pictures of their Yorkies. The "experts" don't usually have any dog, let alone a Yorkie! And even though my vet is adamant Piper is a Yorkie, her assistants marked her a "silky" on the paperwork. No matter, Piper is Piper and just perfect for me!! |
