Nothing wrong with yorkies wearing clothes! Your aunt's grandmother could have had a yorkie with cotton hair, which is the less desired coat, though it makes them look like a teddy bear and keeps them warmer. The silky coat, which is the standard, is like human hair, with no undercoat to trap in heat, so in the cold winter months, yes they do need a coat or sweater. Some people hate seeing clothes on dogs, but I think if a dog is cold, to neglect putting on some warm clothes for them is close to abuse esp in very cold climates.
