My opinion only, I believe that Heart Worm tests needs to be done yearly. The reason is because you just never know. Drugs can fail or dog may look they have taken it and may have spit it out when you were not looking.
Also, if a dog comes up positive for Heart Worm and has been on the medication, the drug company will pay for the treatment BUT only if the Vet can provide proof that yearly Heart Worm tests have been done.
