Yea, accident-prevention is key
I was kind of anal during his house-training period and went to great lengths to prevent accidents - I personally was just paranoid that once he started, he'd think it'd always be okay pee indoors. But when there were accidents, I made sure to clean up using the Nature's Miracle products to make sure that the pee enzymes/scent is gone.
Hmm..for us, I trained Scottie to touch the bell with treats (so he wouldn't be scared of it) before we went out. Maybe that'd help? I think it's worth trying and being persistent with. Til this day, I still get him to touch the bell before we go out, just hoping one day he'll 'get it'.
