Nursing mama is being depleted I took tasha and the pups to the vet yesterday for the pups to have tails docked and dew claws removed. The vet looked at pups and mama. I had some questions for him and one was that when i squezzed on tashas teets it was hard to get any milk out. He looked at her and said what was going on was the puppies were depleting her. He told me to give her a scrambled egg and crunch up some of the egg shell and put in it that it was the best source of calcium for her. She's making milk but they are sucking her dry almost faster than her body could make it. I hope that makes sense. So my question is should i give her cottage cheese and yogurt as well? I searched on here and found a site about mastitis (that's not what she has) but thought it might be good for her as well. any suggestions? She has been eating and drinking good with the execption of this morning. She ate all of her breakfast but not as heartily as usual. The pups are all doing great. They aren't deydrated at all plus they are gaining weight so they are still getting plenty. It's just draining her. After she ate she was moving around as normal.
