They totally know when they've done something "bad." The part I used to love is opening the door to those eyes-as-big-as-salad-bowls, ears flattened back, eyebrows all raised, tail just a zooming, head slightly cowering and the look is one of "oh my gosh I just love you SOOO much and you are SOOO amazing and did I mention how much I LOOOOVE you?" Having never experienced this in such a wee little dog it's going to be amazing when it happens.

This is what Duchess does....it's almost like she is waiting for me to yell her full name. I swear sometimes she reminds of a teenager in trouble...."just wait until your father gets home"
. Boy did I hate hearing that. What's funny is I would act almost identical to how Duchess acts when she knows she has done something wrong and hoping I don't see it.
