The only you can do is remain persistent and consistent. Keep in mine they will backslide occasionally. As long as she doesn't have anything medically wrong with her like a UTI where she just can't hold it, just keep doing what you doing and eventually she will be 100%. It also doesn't hurt to reinforce the potty command periodically even after she is fully trained. Even though Duchess is potty pad trained 100%. I actually reinforce it almost every night. When I take my shower, I usually close the bedroom door and of course Duchess is in there with me.
So what I do is take her to the potty pad and tell her to go potty and when she pottys I give her a big ole hug. I've had for two years now and except for the occasional misfire (sometimes she is on the potty pad but sometimes she is too close to the edge), she goes to her potty pad 100% now. So even though you think she is potty pad trained, sometimes it doesn't hurt to reinforce the command periodically. |
