Default Update!

Ok, the vet wasn't really encouraging about Bentley, but he said we will take it a day at a time. Bentley's standard blood test revealed that his BUN is 92 and creatinine is 1.9...a ratio of 48. Platelet...645 ( in the danger zone). Bentley is such a picky eater that the vet sent me a Hill's Science home made diet. So far, he is acting very spunky most of the time he is awake and alert, but he sleeps a lot. He doesn't eat much no matter what we do.

The vet says he has seen it go both ways. Bentley could have 5 days or 2-3 years. I guess that is the best to hope for!!! We will recheck his levels in a couple of weeks to see if there is any improvement at all, which would indicate that what we are doing is going in the right direction.

No matter what, we have agreed we will not let him suffer. There is no cure for this disease, and it is progressive. We will do what we can to keep him with us for as long as possible, but we will not go to the point that he suffers. I could not stand that!!!!
