You will find "breeders" that will "justify" separating babies from mommas before 12-14 weeks of age...dont get misled into believing rationalizating something a breeder may be doing strictly to make it better for them, and not the babies..... Having puppies is a major expense, and unbelievable amount of patience and work.....but a breeder of excellent reputation is doing this not for income, but for the best she can make her babies, and that takes an enormous amount of time and money....these little sponges are subjected to sooooooo much input and lessons from momma during the age 6-12 weeks, that to pull them off/away from momma, is in my opinion, an injustice to the puppy and shortchanging the buyer of that baby.....
