Thumper has had a hot spot according to the Vet since February 4. The Vet gave me Gentra Spray and told me to spray it on the area every twelve hours. It seems to be a little better as it is now smaller but it still isn't completely healed and the Vet said it should go away within a week. Does anyone know how long a hot spot can last?

Thumper is no longer licking the area. It is on his butt. I clipped away the excess hair as well. I don't have a shaver so I couldn't completely shave the area.

It is red and hard around the area. There are some black spots as well. I uploaded some pics.

Should I bring him back to the vet or does it just take longer to heal? Also is there something else I should be giving him to help the healing process?

He was supposed to get groomed last week but I keep pushing back the appt. I am hoping he will be healed by next Saturday. I hate to keep canceling on them.
