Only uses corner of potty pad and won't go to it on his own I have two concerns. Carson is 4.5 months and weighs about 4 pounds now. He has been using a potty pad since we got him at 12 weeks inside his xpen. I got a pad holder a week ago because my husband bought cheaper pads in bulk and they were not as absorbent and making a mess on the tile. Now he will only use the corner of the pad over and over. Not really a huge deal because I figure it's at least on the pad, but it's so wasteful. Anyone else have this issue?
Next, and really my biggest concern is that he will not go to the pad voluntarily. Since the beginning I put him in there about every hour or if I notice signs he needs to go. When he goes I have a party with treats! However, he just won't go voluntarily and has a lot of accidents when I don't catch his signs. I worry he's afraid of going on his own and getting locked in. He likes playing with his sister and can't wait to get out when I put him in there. Should I move the pad out of the pen when we are home and he has freedom? Just wondering if anyone has suggestions of how to get him to use it on his own. |
