By your description it does sound like tape worm. Usually the segments do not show up every time in the stool so just telling your vet you saw them should be enough to have them give you the right medication. Taking a stool sample is a good idea though because they can check for any other types of worms.
Fleas pass tape worm to our pets and in some areas it is just about impossible to keep them totally free of fleas in the summer if they go outside. Just one of those nasty bugs can cause such problems to dogs and cats. |
