I leave Mario lots of toys on the rare occasion he is left home alone. He frets the whole time we are gone, and then plays hard with the toys the minute we get home.
The toys he has that hold food are these:

Everlasting treat Ball (putting the treats in these upside down helps to lengthen the time)
