 7 years old-Unsocialized and Afraid of Dogs
I recently got a 7 year old yorkie. He is a happy boy who knows some tricks, is great with kids, and treats every human like his new best friend. I was told up front that he had never been socialized. He is very fearful of other dogs. When I introduced him to my sisters new shihtzu puppy he ran away and cowered. He buried his face in my lap and froze still as a statue. We live in a very small and remote town with no dog parks. I'd like for him to become friends with my sister's dog but I need advice on how to help him. He's really the friendliest guy with the best personality. (I don't know if he's ever seen another dog other than his mom and litter mates 7 years ago) |
