All we have are our cancelled checks written out to him - no contract, no information on the parents. I know I was very irresponsible in buying the way I did - it was before Christmas and I really wanted a puppy - when we were talking about my other Yorkie he told me he had sold her breeder 2 of his Yorkies and so I really felt that if his puppies were good enough for her (the puppy we had gotten from her is beautiful and we have never had a problem one with her) that he must be okay. I don't know if just the canceled checks would be enough to go into court with or not. Also, if we went to court, could they make us give her back to him in return for the vet bills?? We could never, ever give her up, we have been through so much together and we love her more than ever - if he took her back he would just euthanize her - I can't see him giving her medicine twice a day for the rest of her life, doing blood work every month or 2 and all the other things that go along with maintaining her health. I had hoped the AKC Yorkie breeder referral lady in Amarillo would call me back so I could at least alert her to this person so she would not refer anyone to him, in case he was on her list. I will definitely sit down in the morning and write a letter to AKC - but all I can give them for now is his name and address. Oh, yes, when I first asked him if any of the other puppies in the litter had been sick he said no, but then when I last saw him to ask for the papers and asked again about the other puppies, he told me Izzy B. was the only puppy the mother had - that the mother was an older dog and he probably should not have bred her again. So that made me wonder why he could have messed the papers up so badly that he had to send them back in when there was only one puppy involved. I believe he is being less than truthful, for sure. Thanks for the help.
