My mom was also lied to. Magnus, now 6 years old and healthy as a ox, was 4-5 weeks old when he came to our home. Just be sure to keep a close eye on her. Like with any puppy, things can go down hill real fast if there's something wrong.
Be sure to know where the closest ER vet is. Having pet first aid kit (Karo syrup, allergy med, etc) can be pretty handy.
