I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time!!!! Oliver is 100% potty trained but WE HAD OUR DAYS TOO! haha being persistant IS THE KEY!!!
Oliver is 4 months old now and I got him at 8 weeks.
I watched him ALL the time and when I couldnt' he was in the bathroom with the gate up (his bed, litter box, and food/water is in there)
And when he was out ever ten-15 minutes I would run him to the litterbox and say go potty go potty. We wouldn't leave until he went or we had been up there for ten minutes and he hadn't gone! Then I'd do it again in 10 or 15 minutes. It was so often because as a puppy he peed all the time! haha
Enetually when I took him to the bathroom he knew I wouldn't let him leave until he at least "tried to pee" and by try I mean jump in the litter box. stand there. and then jump out. hahaha These dogs are TOO smart. Anyways... he wasn't allowed full freedom in the house until i could trust him in smaller areas. They bathroom is ALWAYS open for him to go into so he never has to hold it and find a place to go. (on the carpet!!)
I hope things get better- every time he goes, even now, I clap and say good boy and give him a small little treat. He is really motivated by food! haha I hope your little one catches on! |
