Default How do I get my AKC papers???

Thought someone might help me....I have had Izzy B. since November 28th and the breeder still has not given us her AKC paperwork. She was advertised in the newspaper as AKC - when we bought her the breeder told us he would send us the papers in a couple of weeks or we could pick them up. Two weeks after we got her she started getting sick and to make a long story short has seizures and enlarged heart. We have been in constant contact with him regarding her health problems and the expense we have endured in vet bills, even taking her to Oklahoma State University to have liver shunt ruled out. He has never offered any of our purchase price back and this I can accept - I am willing to accept what he says in that he did not know she was sick and had never had a sick puppy before. Since I have no proof that what she has is hereditary, I do not want to push this issue but........am I asking too much to at least have her papers so I can register her? I had never planned to breed her anyway but I already had her registered name picked out and feel like since I paid a large sum for her that I should at least get the papers on her. I have asked him at least 4 times by phone and in person for her papers and he always has an excuse. The last time was about 3 weeks ago and he said he had messed them up and had to send them back in and should be getting them back anytime. I go back to Amarillo tomorrow and plan to try to find him and see what excuse he has this time, but from reading some of the threads on here, I am wondering if AKC will even do anything if I call to complain that he is misrepresenting them by saying he is selling registered Yorkies??? I looked up the AKC web site and got a name and phone number for a person in Amarillo who you can call who will refer you to breeders for a particular AKC breed. I have called this woman at least 4 or 5 times and left messages on her answering machine, hoping she might tell me who I could contact directly at AKC, but she has never returned my calls. I realize now that I should never have purchased the puppy without getting the papers at the time I paid, but if I remember correctly, I did not get the papers on my first Yorkie until about 2 weeks after I purchased her (from another breeder).
Thanks for any help you can give.
