How old is this fur kiddo? And is this peeing all over thing new...? If it's new, and if there is copious amounts of pee, then there is something medical going on here which can be *solved*. But I have to also ask...has your wife disconnected from this dog, emotionally? Bc it kind of sounds that way. If yes, I'd be asking/wondering why/how?
