I like the idea of the ex pen around the perch. Our now passed Scrappy was a terrier to a T! MIL had a few parokeets outside in a cage. When Scrappy went outside, he didn't want to pee. Just wanted to stare at the birds and bark at them. I'm pretty sure he wanted to eat them, even though he was barely twice their size.
