The first year is really *exciting*. Terriers tend to be energetic all of their lives, but I would say the first year is the most challenging.
When my boys turned 1, they settled into a schedule of when to expect playtime, walks, and big outings. Walks help a lot, although I know the weather makes that challenging right now.
