Don't cut it! When you cut it, you have to constantly keep it trimmed. When it grows out, it pokes them directly in the eye and that causes more tear staining. Once it gets long enough it will lay flat.

You can also use doggy hair gel. Mimimomo on here sells it on her site toplinepet.com. You can PM her to ask if you'd like. We used it and it works! If anything, if it's still too short, at least it sticks the hairs together so it's more spiky and not fanned out and they can see better.
