I have no experience with the laser removal. However as someone who worked at a vet clinic for 15 years and a groomer for almost that long now i would highly advise against having anal glands removed unless its your very last option. It is painful and takes soooooooooo long to heal because of its location. Many dogs dont have full contol of their bowels for months and months after a surgery like that. And many regret that surgery.
I would try different diets etc to firm up stools . Thats just my opinion obviously... Im sure their have been success stories as well
