I'd be more concerned if a pup played silently.... the growling sounds "happy normal".

Bully sticks kept our pup busy for hours at a time. What our pup really loves is when we spend the time to play with him, dragging his toys around by hand, a little tug of war, with them always receiving it as a reward.
