Meet Tucker. He is a 9 year old AKC Registered Purebred Yorkshire Terrier. He is around 11 lbs, so not a tiny yorkie. He has been a valued member of our family, but it has come to our attention that he is no longer compatible with our newest addition, a little baby girl. Our daughter is now 10 months old, and Tucker recently bit her in the face. While we have struggled with the decision, we cannot risk a repeat incident.

Tucker has always been an only dog, and had never been around children. We had hoped he would be okay with the arrival of our daughter, but that just hasn't been the case. While I've always said that having a pet is a lifetime commitment, the safety of our daughter comes first. We are seeking a new home for Tucker which does not have children.

Things to be aware of regarding Tucker before contacting us:
-Super smart! Knows multiple commands. We used to do AKC agility together.
-Super affectionate! loves to cuddle, give kisses, and form close bonds with family.
-Super cute! He has a great quality coat, meaning it doesn't require much brushing. He's pretty!
-Though he is potty trained, he still marks. This is an unfortunate trait of the Yorkshire Terrier Breed. Ideally you have flooring that is easy to wipe up, or you are comfortable with the challenge of doing some additional training
-Isn't a fan of children. Based on his behavior with our baby, I wouldn't trust him in a home with children.
-Isn't a fan of other dogs. He is not a dog you'll want to take with you to PetSmart. He does ok at dog parks when all dogs are off leash, but doesn't do well when meeting other dogs on leash.
-He likes to interact! This is a good thing if you want a dog who is playful and seeks to have an active relationship with you. He loves to play!
-He makes sure you are aware of what is happening outside! Great if you want a watchdog. Not so great if you hate barking.

Tucker will always have a big place in our hearts, so we will be selective regarding his next family.
