At . 4 months old it's a wait him out sort of thing.......plus tons of praise and a treat.
When Buddybear goes outside at 17 months I still tell him he's a good boy in the over excited voice .....but when we go into the back yard I always say when we first go out, go peepee, pody Buddybear.
He will get the hang of it, just be consistent.
